Pop multi-millionaire Michael Jackson has hit out at an American proposal which would see people who download music from the internet imprisoned.
The quirky BILLIE JEAN legend does not agree with the proposed legislation from democrats JOHN CONYERS and HOWARD BERMAN which would make file swapping of pirated music and software a crime - with a penalty of a $256,000 (GBP160,000) and up to five years in jail.
Bemused Jackson utters, "I am speechless about the idea of putting music fans in jail for downloading music. It is wrong to illegally download, but the answer cannot be jail."22/07/2003 13:43
