Crooner Michael Bolton hasn't just rekindled an old flame in DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star NICOLLETTE SHERIDAN - he has found the muse for his new album.

The WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN singer, who started dating Sheridan at Christmas (05), used the actress' love of Frank Sinatra to inspire his new album, Bolton Swings Sinatra.

The couple got back together after Bolton contacted Sheridan, a huge Sinatra fan, last year (05) to ask her about his plans to cover Ol' Blue Eyes' biggest hits.

He says, "We stayed in touch through the years," and he asked her for her opinion.

Sheridan was thrilled with the idea: "Telly Savalas (Sheridan's stepfather) used to listen to Sinatra when I was six-years-old, and my Grampers and I actually grew up in Sinatra's house... We bought the house that he owned for many years."

Bolton insists his girlfriend was right to encourage him to leaf through the Sinatra songbook.

He adds, "It's big band, orchestra, it's amazing. The body of work, of course, that Sinatra has given us, his respect for writers and arrangers is something that is extraordinary to me."
