A young musician is being given the chance to record un-released songs written by late Metallica bassist CLIFF BURTON.
Burton was killed in coach crash in Sweden in 1986 during the band's MASTER OF PUPPETS tour, and replaced by JASON NEWSTEAD.
And shortly after his death Burton's family gave his pal DAVE DIDONATO a collection of demo tapes Burton had recorded.
Didonato is now searching for a young bassist to take on the tapes.
He says, "There are Metallica mega-hits that will never be. All these killer riffs... he was working on them until he died."
"I would love to find a young bass musician... who would utilize this material to improve his craft and appreciate the music and devote himself to doing what Cliff was doing.
"You (can) hear string slapping, grunting and his equipment squeaking... His mom would walk in and go, 'Cliff, turn it down!'."08/12/2004 14:07
