Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood's hit film The Bridges of Madison County is heading to Broadway.

The 1995 movie featured Streep as a housewife from Iowa, Francesca Johnson, who enjoyed a brief affair with a National Geographic photographer, played by Eastwood, and now the film has been turned into a theatrical piece.

The show, based on Robert James Waller's book of the same name, will be directed by Bartlett Sher and feature music and lyrics from Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown.

Casting decisions have yet to be announced, but the musical will premiere at the Williamstown Theater Festival in Massachusetts this summer (13), before transferring to New York's Gerald Schoenfeld Theater next January (14), according to the New York Times.
