Hollywood heavyweights Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline will be working together once more, in a special staged reading of 'Romeo and Juliet,' to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park series. The reading will take place at the open air Delacorte Theater on June 18, 2012. If you want in on the action, though, you had better give that piggy bank a shake to check you've enough cash on standby. Either that, or get used to the idea of queuing.
New York Daily News reports today that tickets for the performance start at a staggering $1,500, making it one of the summer's hottest events and likely to involve a spectacularly well-heeled audience. For those that can't stretch to the ticket price, though, there is still a chance of getting your hands on a ticket. A limited number of freebies will be available but they won't be released until the day of the event. It is expected that people hoping to get to see the reading that way will be camping out for tickets, well in advance of show-time.
