Former Spice Girl Melanie C, 38 has split from her partner Thomas Starr, 45. Mel C, known as 'Sporty Spice' when she was a member of the girl band The Spice Girls, has a three year-old daughter Scarlet with Starr and they share a house in North London. Mel's spokeswoman confirmed to The Sun that the couple had split. According to the report, she was speaking of their plans to have more children together, as recently as May this year.
In a recent interview with the Press Association, Melanie had discussed the challenges of balancing her work and home life, saying "Luckily I have lovely people that help me look after Scarlet and her dad's around a lot as well. So I think it's just like any working mum, trying to fit stuff in. You just have to be organised. That's the key." She is currently performing at festivals around Europe, to promote her latest solo album, as well as starring in 'Superstar.' The TV show is a talent contest, in which Andrew Lloyd Webber conducts a search for a new lead in his Jesus Christ Superstar stage musical. Mel C will be playing the role of Mary Magdalene and is therefore involved in the hunt for the male lead.
Mel has also confirmed that The Spice Girls will be performing at the Olympic opening ceremony. The sporting games will take place in London and start later this month (July 2012).
