Melanie Chisholm's charity Twitter.com challenge has been given a boost by the singer's young daughter, who raised $80 (£50) at her birthday party over the weekend (23-24Feb13).
The former Spice Girls star is rallying her online followers to find 1,000 users who are willing to raise $80 each in aid of the Comic Relief organisation's Twitter Million event.
Chisholm, who completed a gruelling five-day boating trip along Africa's Zambezi river for the charity earlier this month (Feb13), has now revealed her daughter Scarlet used her fourth birthday party to add to her mother's total.
In a post on her Twitter page, the singer writes, "I am very proud my first £50 for Twitter million came from my daughter. She raised the cash at her 4th Birthday party at the weekend."
Chisholm has set up an online fundraising page in her daughter's name, and a message reads, "My Mummy went to Zambia and met some very special children that Red Nose Day will be helping this year. She also conquered the mighty Zambezi River and avoided being eaten by crocs or squished by hippos!
"I am very proud of her and decided to raise money at my birthday party, you can add to it here! Thank you!"
Lily Allen, Myleene Klass and Alison Moyet are also among the celebrities taking part in the Twitter Million challenge, which is set to raise $1.6 million (£1 million) for Comic Relief.
