The 90s girl band celebrated their 20th anniversary last year (16), and had been expected to reassemble for the occasion. However, plans fell through, and now it's just Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Melanie Brown reuniting, reportedly as a three-piece called GEM.

But just because she's not involved in the mini reunion later this year (17), Mel C wouldn't rule out revisiting her Sporty Spice alter ego at another time.

When asked on U.K. TV show Lorraine on Wednesday (25Jan17) if she'd be open to a reunion in the future, Mel replied: "Maybe!"

However, the 43-year-old singer also admitted she finds it frustrating when people constantly ask her the same questions.

"There’s been speculation (about a reunion) ever since Geri left in 1998! Last year was the 20th anniversary and it would have been the perfect opportunity, but it just did not work out. All of us say maybe at some point something will happen."

But this may be tough considering recent reports that Victoria Beckham, who is also sitting out the GEM reunion, has launched legal action to halt the remaining Spice Girls from singing the group's famous hits.

According to Britain's The Sun newspaper, Victoria, known as Posh Spice during her pop star days, is refusing to let her former bandmates use any songs on which she has writing credits.

A source allegedly told the newspaper the mother-of-four is resorting to "aggressive legal letters" to stop Mel B, Geri and Emma.

However, representatives for Victoria have since denied the claims telling Metro.co.uk: "No legal letter was sent, this is a fabrication by The Sun and this story is now being handled legally by Victoria’s lawyer."
