Former SPICE GIRL MELANIE BROWN has received a massive boost to her ailing career - she's in talks to star opposite R'n'B superstar Kelly Rowland in a new movie.
The one-time Scary Spice saw her solo career plummet after the demise of the superstar girlband, and attempts to reinvent herself as a stage actress and TV personality in her native Britain also flopped.
But now Mel has had a dose of good news, as she's being considered for a role in upcoming Hollywood flick SEAT FILLER, which stars Destiny's Child beauty Kelly.
A source tells the DAILY MIRROR, "Mel has been in Los Angeles on and off since September (02), trying to carve out a movie career. She's put in a lot of effort and has really calmed down. She is really dedicated to getting this right.
"After the Spice Girls, Mel tried to launch herself as a solo singer but it didn't go exactly do plan and she was dropped from VIRGIN. Even her stint as a TV presenter went badly so this is really the last chance.
"Mel is not interested in the Hollywood parties and all that stuff. She is very focused on becoming an actress."22/07/2003 09:09
