Australian actress Megan Gale bid a tearful farewell to the catwalk on Tuesday (12Feb08) after stepping out as a model for the last time. The beauty agreed to headline David Jones' winter collection launch in Sydney after learning new movie Justice League Of America had been pushed back due to the ongoing writers strike. Gale, 32, will play Wonder Woman when the blockbuster starts shooting this summer (08), and, as much as she's looking forward to film fame, she was sad to say goodbye to her modeling career. She says, "I turned around and saw everyone standing up. It was overwhelming. I would have cried but I forgot my waterproof mascara." Designers Collette Dinnigan and Akira Isogawa paid tribute to Gale by designing one-off gowns for her final strut on the catwalk, according to newspaper the Sydney Daily Telegraph.
