Meat Loaf had to pull out of a live television show this week, just moments after viewers saw him balancing a banana on his head while he awaited his slot on Itv1's popular show 'Loose Women'. The Bat out of Hell singer was set to appear on the show to promote his latest release 'Hell in a Handbasket' but fell ill before making it on set, reports the Press Association.
Bewildered presenter Andrea Mclean had to explain that Meat Loaf would no longer be able to appear - despite viewers seeing him just minutes before. She said, "I'm afraid that Meat Loaf has been taken unwell so he's unable to join us for the end of the show". A spokeswoman for the show was unable to give specific details of the singer's condition, but Meat Loaf's representatives later said he was expected to make a full recovery, saying, "He's got a mild case of the flu and has been advised by doctors to rest after a gruelling international schedule promoting Hell In A Handbasket.Meat is expected to make a quick, full recovery". It's certainly not the first time the American rocker has been taken ill during a public performance - last year he collapsed at a concert, and also appeared seriously disorientated while collecting a prize at the Q Awards in London.
