British boyband McFly have soared to the top of the UK singles chart with their star-studded charity song All About You/ YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND.

The sexy four-piece recorded the pop anthem for the 20th anniversary of annual fundraiser COMIC RELIEF, which raises money for charitable causes in Britain and Africa.

The band's backing musicians for the track included comedian Johnny Vegas playing the harp, funnywoman Ruby Wax on the tambourine and Graham Norton as a sound engineer.

The song held off competition from late rocker Elvis Presley, whose single GOOD LUCK CHARM claimed the number two slot, followed by the Sunset Strippers' hit FALLING STARS, a remix of 1980s ballad WAITING FOR A STAR TO FALL.

Welsh band the STEREOPHONIC'S single DAKOTA fell to fourth place, after winning their first number one hit with the track last Sunday (ends06MAR05).

And Nelly's duet with country singer Tim Mcgraw, OVER AND OVER, has fallen three places to number five.
