Rap Veteran Mc Hammer Has Lost An Appeal To Block U.s. Tax Officials From Collecting Funds For An Outstanding Bill He Insisted Had Already Been Paid.
Officials at America's Internal Revenue Service (IRS) sued the U Can't Touch This star in 2012, claiming he failed to pay $798,000 (£532,000) in back taxes stemming from 1996 and 1997.
The IRS authorities were subsequently awarded the judgment, but Hammer, real name Stanley Burrell, filed an appeal, claiming he paid the taxes when he filed for bankruptcy in 1996.
Government officials explained his tax bill, totalling $1.5 million (£1 million) from 1993, 1994 and 1995, was included in his bankruptcy, but he was still on the hook for the $798,000.
Hammer responded by insisting they were not owed anymore funds in his bankruptcy case and asked an appeals court judge to overturn the decision.
However, earlier this month (Dec15), his request was struck down, meaning he will still be held responsible for the payment, according to Bossip.com.
