Soul star Maxwell gave a viral video star his big break on Friday (18Nov16) when they hit the stage together in Detroit, Michigan.
Earlier this month (Nov16), Michigan resident Lucas Holliday was caught on camera belting out Maxwell's hit Ascension while working as a cashier in a discount store. The footage went viral as viewers were shocked by Holliday's smooth vocals, and the clip became so popular, it even caught the attention of the singer himself.
During a recent interview on U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America, Maxwell personally invited Holliday to join him on the Detroit stop of the star's King and Queen of Hearts Tour with Mary J. Blige.
The fan joyously accepted, and on Friday, he realised his dream of performing in concert with Maxwell in front of thousands of fans at The Palace of Auburn Hills venue as they sang the 1996 track to huge cheers from the audience.
Maxwell later shared video footage of the duet on Twitter, and captioned it, "As promised mr. lucas holiday (sic) got on stage to sing ascension! special thanks to @GMA for finding him for me #kingandqueenofheartsworldtour".
