This year has already seen the triumphant return of Maximo Park - if there was any doubt that the five-piece are one of the UK's most cherished and relevant bands, their new album "The National Health" has put paid to that, with rousing critical acclaim and sold out tours across the UK confirming that they are indeed back, and better than ever.
Now, the band are giving the title track a complete reconstruction with this collection of remixes, and not only that, but fans can also win a chance to have their very own remix included on the EP release. Each remix takes a different approach - focusing on a singular aspect or feeling from the track. Anna Meredith turns the track into a chaotic electro number before plateauing into a powerful, orchestral driven number full of sentiment. Cymbals take a different approach - using chopped vocal loops, combined with an electro bounce and poignant synths they create a remix that brings something fresh whilst still retaining the best of the original.
There is a track for all music tastes with even a storming contribution from band member Lukas Wooller
The lasting impression is of returning to Maximo Park's original single, as these remixes not only act on their own entity, they also serve to highlight the importance of 'The National Health'.
On top of that, the band are giving fans the chance to have their very own remix included on the EP, and to win a Soundcloud Pro account in the bargain.
