Matt LeBlanc's first reaction was to ''panic'' that something bad had happened when he received an early morning call confirming his Primetime Emmy Award nomination.
Matt LeBlanc thought something ''wrong'' had happened when he was called about his Emmy nomination.
The 46-year-old actor was told yesterday (10.07.14) that he was up for the Best Comedy Actor prize for his role in 'Episodes', and because he sleeps so heavily, his first reaction when the phone rang was to panic.
He told USA Today newspaper: ''I sleep so heavily that I forget when the phone rings that something wrong hasn't happened.
''I panic, 'Is the house on fire? Is someone hurt? What happened?' It never fails.''
Matt was delighted to receive the call, and thinks the nomination means the show will push to do even better with the next season.
He said: ''It's validating. It's a good feeling. It's almost like the bar is set, you've got to push even harder now. To keep the quality of the show as high as we can.''
Meanwhile, despite insisting he never gets tired of being asked about a possible 'Friends' reunion, he insists the sit-com - which ended in 2004 after 10 years - will never return as it would be ''sad'' to see the group in middle age.
He told the Los Angeles Times newspaper: ''I'm not tired of getting asked that question at all. 'Friends' was probably the greatest 10 years of my life...
''As far as a reunion project, that's just not in the cards. I think that show was about a finite period in your life - after college and before you start your family where your friends are your family -and that's what that show was about.
''So to go beyond that doesn't feel like you'd do justice to that. I think it's best to imagine what those characters are doing now versus to see those characters.
''No one wants to see us in our 40s. Joey's still struggling as an actor. It'd just be sad.''
The popstar turned actress is back in the studio.
He is remembered by his ex-wife Kate Van Buren.
