Matt Cardle winner of the 2010 X-Factor is set to release his debut album, Letters.
The singer-songwriter announced his new album on Twitter, saying "Album tracks chosen!! Finally finished, can't wait to get out there n play it for you guys, thank you so much for hangin in there!! Xx" The Southampton born singer has also released his first video, to the single Run For Your Life, where he can be seen without his trademark flat cap. Run For Your Life was written by X-Factor judge Gary Barlow and is Cardle's second single after releasing When We Collide which debuted at number one in the UK single charts. The 28-year-old first came to public attention during last years' (2010) X-Factor and performed a variety of songs while on the show including Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Come Together by The Beatles as well as Baby One More Time originally sung by Britney Spears, he was also mentored during the show by Australian singer Dannii Minogue until he was eventually announced the winner.
When he was younger Cardle worked a series of odd jobs including bricklayer, postman and most recently painter and decorator and had previously released an album as a member of rock band Seven Summer. However, it was not until 2010 and his success on the X-Factor that he achieved nationwide fame, securing a Christmas number one with the cover of Biffy Clyro's Many Of Horror which he renamed When We Collide.
