London's Master Shortie will embark on his comeback tour this February, ahead of the release of his forthcoming EP 'Nobody Taught Me'. Kicking off with a free show at London's Old Blue Last on Monday 3rd, Shortie will play a total of 7 dates in the UK alongside Astroid Boys.
The new EP is scheduled for release in March 2014, and will feature the recent track Jay Z's Life+Times backed track 'Where I'm At', along with brand new material produced by man of the moment Azekel. With the release of his debut album 'A.D.H.D', Shortie received praise from the likes of The Guardian and Zane Lowe for how well it married together different genres. He became known for his left leaning Hip-Hop aesthetic that encompassed Grime, Rock and Pop sensibilities.
'Nobody Taught Me' showcases a different side to the 24-year old. After the release of his debut record he moved to New York, where he met the likes of A$AP Rocky and French Montana. It's a more self-assured offering, more sonically consistent and it sees Shortie single almost as much as he rhymes. It's also distinctly British with its reference to Morleys chicken shops and Trapstar street wear, yet it has the unbridled confidence needed to appeal to an American audience.
