To coincide with the highly anticipated release of Marnie Stern's self-titled third album on the 18th of October on Souterrain Transmissions, the golden-maned New Yorker will be taking to the stage across the country during a string of headline dates. She embarks on her tour on November 18th at Nottingham's Bodega, taking in dates including Brighton, Bristol and Manchester, with London to be announced in the coming weeks.
The new album Marnie Stern is a compendium of life stories both bitter and sweet. Stern and her long-time co-conspirator Zach Hill (who is onstage drummer) have crafted an album which has a deep ingrained rock intelligence yet is brimming with vigor, vitality and fun and is clearly her strongest collection of songs to date.
Marnie Stern's previous albums In Advance of the Broken Arm (2007) and This Is It And I Am It And You Are It And So Is That And He Is It And She Is It And It Is It And That Is That (2008) garnered much critical acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork, Time Out, New York Times and NME but undoubtedly it is the new album which will catapult her into unchartered critical and commercial territory.
When Marnie takes to the stage, ripping through a classic collection of songs new and old and showcasing her masterful guitar skills, the results will be both jaw-dropping and unmissable in equal measure.
