A mystery surrounds the death of acting legend Marlon Brando on Thursday (1JUN04) after rumours began circulating he committed suicide.

The 80-year-old was found dead at his Mulholland Drive, Los Angeles home, after suffering what was claimed to be "lung failure".

But speculation he ended his own life surfaced because his death was confirmed by the police and not medics.

"There are lots of questions which aren't being answered, like the police involvement and why there were cops all over his home all day Friday.

"The family are also stopping the hospital giving more information. It's all very suspicious."
