The Oscar winner is set to reunite with his Bridge of Spies director Steven Spielberg for the adaptation of David Kertzer's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel about a young Italian Jewish boy, who is kidnapped and raised as a Christian.

He subsequently went on to become a priest.

The movie, which also reunites Spielberg with his Lincoln and Munich screenwriter Tony Kushner, will begin production in early 2017 and is slated for release later that year.

Steven and Mark are also working together on the film adaptation of children's book The BFG. Mark will lend his voice to the titular role as the big, friendly giant. The movie is scheduled for release in July (16).

Mark won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the Cold War spy film Bridge of Spies.
