Mark Ronson's new track Uptown Funk looks set to be the U.K.'s Christmas number one after bookmakers suspended betting on the song almost two weeks ahead of the festive chart battle.

Uptown Funk, Ronson's collaboration with Bruno Mars, was due for release in January (15) but it was brought forward to Monday (08Dec14) following the download success of The X Factor contestant Fleur East's cover version.

Ronson's single has already raced to the top of the iTunes chart following the release, and now bookmakers Ladbrokes have stopped taking bets on it being crowned number one for Christmas week on Sunday, 21 December (14) .

Officials at another U.K. bookies, William Hill, cut the single's odds to 7/1, making it third favourite after The X Factor winner's single and Band Aid 30's charity song Do They Know It's Christmas?.
