All-girl Korean pop band Mamamoo have apologised for posing in 'blackface' makeup for a video which featured during their gig in Seoul on Friday (03Mar17).
The ill-advised, culturally-offensive clip, which appeared during the group's rendition of Mark Ronson's Uptown Funk, upset fans, who hit social media to blast the girls.
Mamamoo have released a statement via their Facebook page, admitting, "There is no excuse for what we did."
"We were extremely ignorant of blackface and did not understand the implications of our actions," the statement continues. "We will be taking time to understand more about our international fans to ensure this never happens again. We hope that you will help to educate us on these and other issues so that we can become better people and better artists."
Mamamoo hit the headlines last year (16) when they were criticised for perpetuating rape culture in the music video for their single Decolamanie.
