Actresses Mariska Hargitay and Lucy Liu are set to be honoured at the 32nd annual Muse Awards next month (Dec12) for their commitment to helping women through various acts of charity.

The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit veteran and Liu, who is currently playing the first-ever female Dr. Watson in Sherlock Holmes drama Elementary, will be celebrated by New York Women in Film and Television officials with the Loreen Arbus Award during a special Big Apple luncheon on 13 December (12).

Hargitay will be recognised for launching the Joyful Heart Foundation, which helps female survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse, while the Charlie's Angels star will be honoured for her longtime work as an ambassador of Unicef (The United Nations Children's Fund).

Past recipients have included Claire Danes and Julianna Margulies.
