British singer Marina Diamandis has been ordered to rest her voice after rupturing a vocal cord.
The Marina and the Diamonds frontwoman must refrain from speaking and singing outside of professional appearances in a bid to let her throat heal.
The pop star admits she can't wait to be fully recovered after being deprived of her favourite foods.
She tells U.K. talk show Lorraine, "I've been on a week of silence so hopefully I'm as fresh as a daisy today. I actually have a ruptured vocal fold (cord) at the moment, so I'm not allowed to speak outside of TV performances. I'm hoping (it will heal soon) but they've said I can't drink any vodka or eat spicy food or fried chicken so it's like my life's over!"
