The photographer who captured the last shots of Marilyn Monroe has died.
George Barris, who took iconic snaps of the actress on a Santa Monica, California beach, weeks before her death passed away on Friday (30Sep16) at his home in Thousand Oaks, California, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Barris published the 1995 book Marilyn: Her Life in Her Own Words: Marilyn Monroe's Revealing Last Words and Photographs, which featured his shots.
Eight of his prints, several of which featured Monroe in a bikini, were sold at auction in May, 2015, according to the outlet.
Barris and Monroe became friends after they met on the set of The Seven Year Itch.
Barris also photographed movie greats Elizabeth Taylor, Steve MCQueen, Marlon Brando, Charlie Chaplin, Clark Gable, and Sophia Loren.
