Rocker Marilyn Manson is suing former bandmate SCOTT PUTESKY and record label EMPIREWERKS RECORDS over an alleged copyright infringement.
The SWEET DREAMS singer and his bandmate MADONNA WAYNE GACY are furious former guitarist Putesky and the label are planning to release an old Manson album, LUNCH BOXES AND CHOKLIT COWS.
The lawsuit argues the re-release features the unauthorised use of images from the shock rocker's book THE LONG HARD ROAD INTO HELL.
However, Richard Wolfe, the lawyer for both Putesky and Empirewerks, said the case was "ill-conceived".
Wolfe says, "We've tried to work things out with Manson, he doesn't respond."
Manson and Gacy say that the release of the album, and an accompanying DVD, is both trademark and copyright infringement. They also claim that Putesky, who performed under the name DAISY BERKOWITZ, is in breach of a settlement agreement related to his departure from Manson's band in 1996.
The pair are seeking at least $504,000 (GBP280,000) in damages.14/05/2004 17:15
