Veteran entertainer Marie Osmond is set to become a grandmother, according to a U.S. report.

The Paper Roses hitmaker's son Stephen Craig and his wife Claire are expecting their first child, reports the National Enquirer.

A source tells the publication, "Marie was deeply touched when Steve told her the baby news. He also told his mum that, if it's a baby girl, they'll name her Olive in honour of Marie (whose first name is Olive) and her late mother, Olive, who died in 2004.

"Marie said, 'It doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl. Simply having a grandchild would be the greatest gift that Steve and Claire could possibly give me.'"

If the couple welcomes a son, Craig plans to name the boy after his adopted brother Michael, who committed suicide in 2011, the same year the parents-to-be married in California.

Osmond's representative failed to respond to a request for a comment as Wenn went to press.
