Marianne Faithfull has ruled out an onstage collaboration with new album guitarist Lou Reed - because she hates inviting special guests to join her live.
The singer/songwriter was thrilled when Reed agreed to join her in the studio for tracks on her new album Horses & High Heels, but she urges fans not to expect the former Velvet Underground frontman to be part of upcoming live shows.
She tells Spin magazine, "I don't like guests. I like to rehearse and to know what I'm doing, and to be used to whom I'm working with. I don't like surprises.
"If he showed up and wanted to play, I'd of course be delighted, but I hate doing impromptu things."
