Superstar diva Mariah Carey has signed an exclusive worldwide publishing deal with UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP.

The long-term deal will include 135 copyrights, including 14 of Carey's 15 number one hits on Billboard's HOT 100 charts, and all future works.

UMPG worldwide president DAVID RENZER has had his eye on Carey's catalogue for some time, so after her deal with Sony/ATV expired, Rezner quickly stepped in to make Carey an offer she couldn't refuse.

He says, "There are certain artists that you always inquire about. I had been asking (Carey's attorney) DON PASSMAN for years about her and when her catalogue might become available.

"She was an artist who I had respected, not only for her vocal range but her songwriting."
