Maria Shriver's Memorial Day weekend included a stroll on Malibu beach with two friends, before dining with her family in Los Angeles, reports People Magazine. Maria Shriver, who recently announced her separation from husband Arnold Schwarzenegger, tweeted regularly throughout the remembrance weekend.
Her son Patrick Schwarzenegger tweeted on Saturday (28th May 2011), "Nothing could be better than going to hit up the Malibu house". Patrick's father was also in Los Angeles over the weekend, but his family dined without him on Sunday evening. In one of her numerous tweets, Shriver paid tribute to those who had died in the line of duty, saying, "This weekend, I'm thinking of all who gave their life, and all the families who lost a loved one, in service to this great country. You have our deepest gratitude and respect. God bless". The mother of four also spoke about a piece of advice given to her by daughter Katherine, saying, "My daughter once gave me a great Plato quote that said, Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. We don't know what is going on inside of most people". Her husband Arnold recently admitted to fathering a child with a member of his household staff in the 1990's. The revelation led to Shriver moving out of the couple's Brentwood home, but it is not yet known whether the pair plan to divorce.
Maria Shriver, an American journalist and author of six best-selling books, married Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1986 after meeting him at a charity tennis tournament.
