Marc Jacobs did marry Lorenzo Martone in a ceremony over New Year on the French island of St. Barts.
Marc Jacobs has married Lorenzo Martone.
The designer's lover confirmed they wed on New Year's Eve (31.12.09) on the island of St. Barts in the West Indies - although they have yet to sign official wedding documents.
Lorenzo told Butt magazine: "In the end, we just had an intimate ceremony at a friend's house with people who were already on the island.
"Although the official wedding papers won't be signed till later this year, so legally we're not married yet."
Representatives for US designer Marc, 46, and Brazilian PR executive Lorenzo have previously denied the couple married, even though there was a wedding cake at their New Year 'party'.
In January a representative said: "Someone had a party for them, but there was no wedding. They are still engaged."
Meanwhile, Marc recently admitted he is banning celebrities from his upcoming show at New York Fashion Week.
The designer said he doesn't want to see A-listers at this week's prestigious event because he thinks it is "boring".
He said: "I'm not into the celebrity thing . . . like we used to. That's boring."
Jacobs also admitted he felt "awkward" when Madonna came backstage after his show at last September's Fashion Week because the pop superstar wasn't invited.
He said: "She came backstage, and I was like, 'What do you do with her now?' Because it's not like she was invited."
