Salsa singer Marc Anthony was honoured by his close friend David Beckham on Tuesday (20Mar12) as the soccer superstar presented him with a prestigious prize at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Latin Music Awards.
Jennifer Lopez's estranged husband was the proud recipient of the Founders Award, Ascap's highest honour, which recognises songwriters, composers and artists who have achieved extraordinary career milestones, and Beckham was on hand to salute his pal.
Standing next to the sports hunk onstage, Anthony joked, "When I left home today I felt handsome, and then they stand me next to this!"
Anthony was treated to a string of special performances from artists like his fellow Puerto Rican salsa star Victor Manuelle and Spanish singer Natalia Jimenez.
The I Need To Know hitmaker was joined at the Los Angeles event by his new girlfriend, model Shannon de Lima, while Beckham was accompanied to the show by his designer wife Victoria.
The foursome posed together on the red carpet before the awards ceremony and Victoria Beckham posted the photo on on Wednesday (21Mar12) to celebrate Anthony's big win.
She tweeted, "Congratulations to @MarcAnthony winning his @Ascap award last night."
Other winners at the Latin Music Awards included Claudia Brant and Anthony 'Romeo' Santos, who were jointly awarded the Songwriter of the Year accolade, while Mexican band La Original Banda El Limon landed the Latin Song of the Year for Di Que Regresaras.
