Manolo Blahnik has said he would like to team up with a high street store if an ''exciting'' enough project were to arise.
Manolo Blahnik wants to be part of a high street collaboration.
The iconic shoe designer would team up with a more affordable clothing or shoe store if the project was ''exciting'' and innovative enough for his tastes.
He told Vogue.co.uk: ''If someone asked me to do high street and I really liked it, then why not? But it would have to be a challenge, I don't just want to do it for commerce or for business, I've never really been into money that way.
''But if it was something exciting and I could really collaborate with someone marvellous then yes, of course.''
Manolo collaborated with Kurt Geiger last year to sell his shoes in London's most exclusive department stores, Harrods and Liberty, and he expressed his delight that his footwear designs would be reaching a wider audience.
However, Kristina Blahnik - Manolo's niece, who runs the business - dismissed claims they were planning further expansion.
She said: ''We do want to reach out to more customers. But we still want to keep things small and exclusive, and we don't want to be everywhere. We won't be looking at any further locations in the UK.''
