The A DESIGN FOR LIFE hitmaker was deeply affected by songwriting while growing up, and The Beatles' A DAY IN THE LIFE and the Sex Pistols' punk classic GOD SAVE THE QUEEN left a huge impression on the adolescent.
He recalls, "As a kid I can remember watching the SOUTH BANK SHOW on THE BEATLES' SERGEANT PEPPER and how they made DAY IN THE LIFE with newspaper headlines and abstract thoughts and that was something that really resonated with me.
"I loved loads of lyricists - the mysticism of Ian Mcculloch (ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN), the politics of The Clash, and of course, the Sex Pistols.
"God Save The Queen is still the best political song ever."17/06/2005 19:16
