The I Ain't Your Mama hitmaker was performing at the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club, near her native Potomac, and not only was the special hometown show sold out, but many of her family and friends were among the audience.

Her longtime beau Austin Marshall took advantage of the special night and interrupted Rose just as she was about to sing a duet with her bass player, walking out onstage holding a rose.

He whispered in the shocked singer's ear and then got down on one knee to ask for her hand in marriage.

Rose posted a video of the proposal on her Instagram page, and added the caption, "I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful moment and sharing it with everyone was such a blessing. My whole band was in on it. They made a customized set list just for me so I wouldn't be tipped off.

"My sisters and parents were there ready to capture the moment and I was overwhelmed with love. Austin knows I live on stage and carefully chose a time and place that we’ll remember forever."
