Madonna will take a trip down memory lane when she heads out on tour this year (12) - she's booked her first ever concert in Scotland, where she wed Guy Ritchie in 2000.
The Material Girl confirmed on Tuesday (07Feb12) she will embark on a global trek to promote her new album Mdna on 29 May in Tel Aviv, Israel before heading to Europe, North America, South America, and Australia.
And the U.K. leg of her world tour, which will include a show at London's Hyde Park in July (12), will feature a poignant moment for the singer when she stages her first ever show for Scottish fans at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium.
Madonna famously wed moviemaker Ritchie at a castle in the country's Highlands in 2000, bringing the small town of Dornoch to a standstill. She also had the couple's son Rocco baptised at nearby Dornoch Cathedral.
The Mdna tour will be Madonna's first global trek since her Sticky & Sweet gigs ended in 2009. The announcement comes in a week when the Queen of Pop has dominated headlines after wowing a TV audience of 110 million with her showstopping half-time performance at the U.S. Super Bowl, featuring cameos from Cee Lo Green, M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj.
