Madonna braved the pain of a recent ankle injury to lead a workout class during the launch of her latest gym brand in Canada on Tuesday (11Feb14).

The pop superstar opened her latest Hard Candy outlet in Toronto and celebrated the launch by leading around 50 members of the gym in an exercise masterclass.

She attended the opening event wearing a bandage on her ankle after bruising a bone during a skiing holiday in Switzerland last month (Jan14), and she braved the pain to lead the workout along with her personal trainer Nicole Winhoffer.

After the event, Madonna shared her agony with fans by posting a picture on showing her putting ice on the ankle injury, adding in a caption, "Harder is better! Post work out! Foot in the ice bath. A girl has to make a living. Hard Candy Toronto. Addicted to sweat."

The 55-year-old singer has previously opened Hard Candy gyms in cities across the world, including Sydney, Australia and Moscow in Russia.
