M83 Releases Stream Of Maps' 'Run Into Flowers' Remix [Listen]

M83 stream and release a new remix for 'Run Into Flowers' by Maps in honour of the digital release of both 'Dead Cities, Red Seas, and Lost Ghosts Remixes and B-Sides' and 'Before The Dawn Heals Us Remixes and B-Sides' out worldwide today.

Chatting about remixing 'Run Into Flowers' Maps' James Chapman said, "It has always been a track close to my heart. 'Dead Cities...' was the first M83 album I really got into and 'Run Into Flowers' always brings back great memories whenever I hear it. There were no stems for the track, which made remixing it a bit of a challenge, but an enjoyable one!" Maps' album 'Realigned', featuring remixes of his own tracks from contemporaries including M83 is also out now via Mute.

Four years on from the Grammy nominated, critically acclaimed release 'Hurry Up, We're Dreaming' (featuring platinum selling single 'Midnight City'), French electronic act M83 has re-issued their first three albums in addition to the two digital EPs featuring remixes and B-sides from those albums out this week. Out of print for several years, 'M83' (2001), 'Dead Cities, Red Seas, and Lost Ghosts' (2004) and 'Before the Dawn Heals Us' (2005) are available now on CD, vinyl, and digital download via Naive in the UK and Europe.

This follows on from the release of brand new video for 'Lower Your Eyelids To Die With The Sun' from 'Before the Dawn Heals Us'. This epic visual journey captures the spirit of M83's music perfectly, leaving viewers awe-struck and inspired.

M83 has become a huge household name amongst most music lovers due to extensive success across many formats. Since 'Hurry Up, We're Dreaming', not only has M83's Anthony Gonzalez scored two films: 'Oblivion' (featuring Tom Cruise) and 'You and the Night' (directed by his brother Yann Gonzalez), but his music has been used across a plethora of movies, television shows and commercials, most recently in films 'The Fault In Our Stars', 'The Vampire Diaries', and '22 Jump Street'. Huffington Post recently said, "few recent albums have had a bigger impact on movie music than M83's Hurry Up, We're Dreaming."

Now, after being unavailable for the past several years, fans can access M83's beginnings.

Aptly titled 'M83', this album served as the French electro outfit's debut release in 2001 on Gooom. Recorded as a duo by founding members Anthony Gonzalez and Nicolas Fromageau, the album was described by Pitchfork as "how it feels to live inside a triumphal music box." The track names can be read in order to describe a boy/girl meeting at a party. Taken in tow with the sampled movie dialogue throughout, the album serves as a poignant soundtrack for the simplest of scenarios.
