Lynyrd Skynyrd rocker Gary Rossington is feeling "real good" about his return to the stage after undergoing heart surgery this summer (16).
The veteran rockers had to axe shows earlier this year (16) as the guitarist struggled with chest pains, a year after he suffered a heart attack.
Rossington recently went under the knife again to treat his latest health problem, and he has assured fans he is now firmly on the road to recovery.
Speaking to the Florida Times-Union, he reveals he is "all right, knock on wood", and is doing his best to keep fit.
"Just staying ahead of the game," he says. "I'm feeling real good and trying to take care of myself and living healthy (sic). As good as I can feel."
"I'm so thankful to God that I'm still here," he adds.
Rossington, who turns 65 on Sunday (04Dec16), is expected to join his Lynyrd Skynyrd bandmates when they resume their tour on Friday (02Dec16) with their final two shows of the year in Las Vegas.
The Free Bird stars will then head to Michigan in February (17), with other stops in Kentucky, Florida, Oklahoma, and Alabama.
