Rapper Lupe Fiasco hinted at a departure from the music industry as he quit Twitter.com, insisting he "never really liked dealing with the public".

The Superstar hitmaker, real name Wasalu Jaco, told fans he will "go back to the shadows" as he revealed his recording career is the only reason he speaks publicly.

Fiasco hinted that he is departing from the music industry as his contract has ended, and he has "other things that I'd rather be doing".

His posts also indicated his upcoming fifth album, Tetsuo & Youth, will be his swansong.

He writes, "These are my last few days addressing the public directly. Im not tired. I could carry on for years. I just really want to do something else... I never really liked dealing with the public. My recording career thus far put me in a place where i had to for promotion etc... Now that my contract is over and I have other things that I'd rather be doing I get to make the decision to go back to the shadows."
