Stars including Luciano Pavarotti, Westlife and Daniel Bedingfield will be subject to unprecedented security when they perform at Britain's ROYAL VARIETY Performance tonight (24NOV03) due to fears of a terrorist attack.

The British secret services are concerned the star-studded show in Edinburgh, which will be attended by Queen Elizabeth II and husband Prince PHILIP, is a prime target for a terrorist attack in the current world climate, and are taking whatever measures necessary to ensure the security of the event.

The performers will not be granted any visitors backstage, and sniffer dogs will patrol the FESTIVAL THEATRE, which will also see performances from GLORIA ESTAFAN, Donny Osmond and Busted.
