Lounge On The Farm has been busy preparing for this years event and it's all set to go off with bang!
We are only releasing 2500 tickets this year so it's all about our closest festival friends and family joining us to say our goodbyes to Merton Farm with a big Lounge Originals party. We maintain our festival is more than just its line up. Its about championing creative talent, its about having fun and its about being part of an amazing local scene and community. And this year's event is a chance to say big thank you to all that have made it possible.
Lounge on the Farm is pleased to announce the first set of acts confirmed for this year's festival including our main stage headliner.
Headlining our main stage will be none other than Fun Lovin' Criminals.
Warming up for them will be Manchester music legend Peter Hook and his band The Light.
We'll also have DJ Yoda and the Trans-Siberian Marching Band bringing their unbelievable live show to Lounge on the Farm 2014. Combining Yoda's trademark turntablist talents with the eccentric Balkan-brass style of The Trans-Siberian Marching Band this is surely one not to miss.
No Lounge on the Farm lineup would be complete without one of our favourite acts - the Dub Pistols. Returning to Merton Farm for a seventh year, Dub Pistols' unique mixture of live dub and big beat is one the most popular staples of LOTF.
We've also got jazz legend Courtney Pine doing a set on our main stage. While classified as a jazz musician, multi-instrumenalist Courtney Pine mixes a variety of genres to create an eclectic and original sound. As well as traditional jazz, Pine's recent work has afrobeat and ska influences making it one of the most original sounds around.
Any hip-hop fans out there will be familiar with the work of Dj Format and The Herbaliser - both absolute icons of the UK hip-hop scene. Format will be going back to back with Olly Teeba from The Herbaliser playing a set of funk, soul, jazz, breaks and of course hip-hop keeping the party going right into the night.
We're pleased to announce that DJ Alfredo will be returning for a second year running.
Here at Lounge we love to champion emerging talent and this year isn't any different. We've got sets from some great up and coming bands including Coves and The Ramona Flowers - expect more up and coming bands to be announced soon.
Other great acts you can expect to see include the king of swing revival Si Cranstoun, reggae production and DJ team Radio Riddler and of course our very own Comfy Porn.
As always, we will have the best in local talent with both the biggest names in the Kent music scene as well as some new names. We can confirm that Coco and the Butterfields, The Intermission Project, The Doctorates, Boo, Forever, High Tide, Native People, Phoebe Warden and Gentleman of Few have all signed up for this year's Lounge on the Farm. Expect to see more local names added to the bill in the next few months.
