Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins is to stand trial on child sex offences this summer (13).
The Welsh rocker appeared in court via video link on Monday (11Mar13) to face charges including two counts of conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a female under 13 and three counts of possessing, making and distributing indecent images of children. He is also accused of possessing "extreme" animal pornography.
Watkins didn't enter a plea during his appearance at Cardiff Crown Court in Wales and the hearing was adjourned until May (13) due to technical difficulties with the video link.
Judge Eleri Rees ordered Watkins to stand trial in the summer, and a proposed date of 15 July (13) is expected to be confirmed at a hearing on Thursday (14Mar13).
In a statement issued after the brief hearing, Watkins' solicitor said, "Mr Watkins furiously denies all of the charges and allegations made. He intends to fight to the bitter end to clear his name. He wishes to thank the fans, family and friends for the constant love and support they have given and continue to give throughout this testing time."
Two women, aged 24 and 20, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are also facing charges alongside Watkins. Neither of them entered a plea on Monday.
