THE SOPRANOS star Lorraine Bracco once turned down the advances of master artist SALVADOR DALI - because she thought he was a dirty old man.
The actress was modelling in Barcelona, Spain, in her late teens when Dali approached her at a party and asked her to pose nude for him.
She recalls, "I said, 'This is a dirty old man, I'm not going to pose naked for him.' People were like, 'He's incredible, he's unbelievable, world-famous.'
"Probably because I said no he was much more intrigued. He was very persistent and he sent a fabulous huge etching of a man's erect penis, and I guess it was meant to be flattering but I was really insulted by it.
"Everybody was like, 'Oh my God, this is incredible.' My reaction was, 'This guy is really a creep.'"
Bracco now regrets she didn't keep a hold of Dali's phallus painting.
She adds, "I gave it to somebody. He leant me his apartment for the summer, so I gave him the picture."09/04/2004 09:20
