London Fashion Week kicks off today (Friday September 14, 2012) and promises to be a truly glamorous occasion, showcasing the best of British fashion, as well as a little from overseas.

Although officially beginning today, it wont be until Sunday (September 16, 2012) that things really get underway, with up and coming designer Jonathan Saunders, who walked away with Vogue's Fashion Fund award this year, unveiling his new line for Spring/Summer 2013. But Saunders isn't the only young gun set to wow audiences this year, as he will be but one of a veritable smorgasbord of young talent. Christopher Kane, JW Anderson, Erdem and Richard Nicoli, all of whom are London residents whose headquarters are based in the capital, will each be shopping their wears throughout Monday.

Next week will also be offering debut shows for alternative new comers James Long and the two-piece threadbare enthusiasts Marques Almeida hoping to further build on their mushrooming reputations.

Of course, with this being London, outwear is an essential line for designers to plug during the week, and none shall be doing so as much as fashion powerhouse Burberry, who will also be opening the doors of their brand new shop in glitzy Regents Street. Another staple of LFW is yet another fashion powerhouse, with Topshop set to unveil its latest collection for the New Year during the week, demonstrating just what the high street has to offer the budding fashionistas of the world.

The whole week is set to set the fashion world alight, as it has for many a year now, and will be available to stream online through many an outlet, including The Guardian and LFW's official website.
