At the start of the month Leeds showcased its' live music scene through a series of performances throughout the city, coordinated by Live At Leeds. The city centre festival showcased over a 122 bands in over 12 venues including Rudimental, Everything Everything, Laura Mvula, The 1975, AlunaGeorge, The Vaccines alongside a wide selection of local talent.
This year the festival extended its programme with a series of #LALTakeover events to encapsulate the festival vibe outside of traditional live music venues. This included the use of Everyman Cinema in Trinity Leeds, an intimate performance from Little Comets in Dr Martens, a raucous line up in Pretty Green and The Pigeon Detectives performing to over 200 people in Made In Leeds, Trinity Leeds.
Following the success of this year's event, the organisers have put their Early Bird 1.0 tickets on sale at o15.00. This gives early purchasers a discount of o10 compared to the full price of a standard advance ticket. There are a limited amount of Early Bird 1.0 tickets available and festival-goers are encouraged to purchase them sooner rather than later.
Organisers have also confirmed that they are in discussions with additional venues in the city to continue to expand the event. Festival Director, Colin Oliver said:
"This year we extended Live At Leeds further than ever before, both through venues and partnerships and we are excited by the prospect of continuing this into 2014. Our event has always been about showcasing the city and the talent of those within it by providing a platform alongside must-see acts, we hope to encourage a platform for additional venues to be involved in the event alongside our iconic venues Leeds University Refectory and The Cockpit."
