Perrie Edwards is seemingly on top of the world following her group Little Mix 's win in the 'X Factor UK' over the weekend, the four-piece being the first girl group to take the crown after eight series. It's also the first time a girl group has won any nationally televised reality singing contest since Girls Aloud won 'Popstars: The Rivals' back in 2002, subsequently going onto achieve huge success. Edwards clearly wants the same, and she wants to focus on her career to such an extent that she's taken the drastic step of dumping new boyfriend Zayn Malik of One Direction - even though it was his group who reportedly gave her and the girls some career advice.
The UK's Daily Mirror reports that Edwards said of the boy band, "They were so nice and gave us loads of advice. But right now I haven't got the time for romance. It's all about the music, the tour and then the album," if Malik was the source of such help then he can't help but feel his kindness has backfired a little; indeed, he's said to be gutted at the split having pursued Edwards relentlessly.
Continuing, the 18 year-old insisted, "There are no boys for us. We're going to be like nuns," something that was backed up by fellow group member Leigh-Ann Pinnock, saying, "I've been single for quite a while. I want this too badly to let any man get in the way".
