Lindsay Lohan has an unlikely supporter after California police officials suggested the star violated her probation during her rehab stay - the staff member she was accused of assaulting at the facility has urged cops to "back off".
Last month (Dec10) Dawn Holland claimed Lohan lashed out at her at the Betty Ford Center, where the actress was serving three-months of court-ordered treatment.
The rehab worker alleged the actress had been drinking at the time and became angry when she was caught breaking a curfew, and she filed a battery report with police. She was later fired for speaking to the media about the incident and subsequently dropped her complaint.
However, Palm Desert police officials released a statement on Monday (03Jan11) - the day Lohan completed her treatment - claiming their investigation concluded the star had possibly broken the rules of her probation and they were preparing to pass on their findings to the local district attorney as well as the Los Angeles Probation Office for review.
But despite Holland's alleged clash with the star, she insists the police should "back off" and let Lohan get on with her life.
She tells, "Lindsay has got enough to deal with as is (sic)... they just need to back off and let it go. Jail is not going to rehabilitate her."
