Lindsay Lohan's promotional world record attempt in Germany this weekend (30JUL05) could be in vain because cinemas are threatening to boycott HERBIE: Fully Loaded in protest of the DVD release date.

The actress is planning to set a new world record with the longest convoy of Beetle cars but bosses at Cinemaxx, Cinestar and UCI are considering a blanket snub of the Disney film because it is scheduled for a DVD release just four months after it hits cinemas across Germany to meet the Christmas rush.

Under German law, domestic movies must be released on DVD at least six months after their cinema release - and distributors had always followed this rule for foreign films as well.
